About Sweetfields
Sweetfields is a family owned and operated business that brings you this new and exciting concept in culinary garnishes from Southern California. Our Marketing and Customer Relations are based in Carlsbad and our 33 acre farm sits in the foothills of Jamul where the flowers are prepared with our patent-pending finishes then shipped to customers around the globe. Sweetfields is committed to serving its customers with 100% satisfaction whether that is an individual or a large enterprise. Our mission statement is: “We’re not happy until you are happy!” Let us introduce you to our management team!
John Clemons, President and Founder
john@sweetfields.com
John was born and raised on the farm in Jamul and has over 20 years of experience as a farmer.  His first company, Sunset Farms (www.sunsetfarmsflowers.com),is one of this country’s leading producers of edible flowers and has been since its inception.  After years of growing and working with edible flowers, John revolutionized the system for taking them into mass production and enhancing their natural beauty by formulating our patent-pending finishes: SweetCrystal, SweetGlaze, SweetDust, and SweetCustom.  The result is picture perfect violas, pansies, snap dragons, mini-roses, and rose petals that keep for years without loosing their natural beauty or edibility.  John holds an Associates degree in Aviation Technology from Miramar College and a degree in Computer Science Information Systems from San Diego State University (SDSU).
Shanna Johnson, CEO
shanna@sweetfields.com
Shanna joined Sweetfields after several years of working in the high-tech industry.  Her most recent position was that of Project Manager at Nokia, Inc.  During her time at Nokia she successfully brought three new handsets from their conception phase to mass production on-time and within budget.  Prior to joining Nokia, she was a founding member heading the Marketing department of a start-up company, Objectiva Software Solutions, that has since been acquired by Document Sciences Corporation.  John and Diane brought Shanna on board recognizing her expertise would bring Sweetfields to the next level of corporate growth while maintaining the family business intimacy.  She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of San Diego (USD).
Diane Richards, Vice President Customer Relations
diane@sweetfields.com
Since the inception of Sweetfields, Diane has played an integral part in the innovation of the Sweetfields finishes and application to the flowers.  In cooperation with each other, John and Diane have been able to deliver a product that awes all our customers both large and small.  This has only been possible with Diane focused on providing the voice of the customer into our day-to-day operations so that Sweetfields remains as the leading provider of candied flowers and always is commended for its superb customer service.  Diane has been an artist her entire life with extensive experience in various mediums.  Her artistic ability took her into the field of Permanent Cosmetics where she has had a thriving business called Face It (www.faceitforbeauty.com) for the last 7 years.  She holds a degree from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Southern California.

Chase Johnson, Future CEO
Since Chase made his debut on September 3, 2006, he has truly become the boss at Sweetfields!  Every day he works closely with his mom, Shanna, and, on most days, his Grandma Diane so by the time he is 5 he should know the business inside and out.  It is very likely that in a short time, he will be roaming the hills at the farm with his Grandpa John and telling everyone what to do.  The plan is to groom him to become Sweetfields’ next CEO!
